Boomi Integration Engineer
Onsite | Austin, TX | 6-month Contract
We are looking for an experienced Boomi Engineer to support an organization in Austin, Texas through a long-term contract engagement. In this role, you will create and enhance enterprise integrations that connect business-critical platforms, improve data flow reliability, and support day-to-day operational performance. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on integration specialist who can balance solution design, development, and production support in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Design robust integration solutions that meet business needs while emphasizing scalability, supportability, and long-term performance.
• Lead the full integration lifecycle, including discovery, technical design, data mapping, build, testing, deployment, and post-launch stabilization.
• Develop and maintain Boomi processes that connect APIs, databases, flat files, and external applications across the enterprise.
• Partner with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective integration workflows and data exchange strategies.
• Provide ongoing support for production integrations by monitoring job execution, addressing failures, and restoring service quickly when issues arise.
• Investigate complex incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to reduce recurrence and improve platform stability.
• Oversee the health and availability of Boomi environments to ensure dependable system performance and timely alert response.
• Apply integration best practices for message handling, transformation logic, and secure connectivity across interconnected systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in integration development, integration engineering, or a closely related technical role.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Dell Boomi, including both process development and solution architecture.
• Experience building integrations that use APIs, database connectivity, file-based exchanges, and common middleware patterns.
• Solid understanding of data transformation, messaging concepts, and complex field mapping across multiple systems.
• Knowledge of web services, including RESTful integrations, along with authentication, authorization, and secure integration practices.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or a comparable programming language, with scripting experience for automation considered valuable.
• Ability to troubleshoot effectively, communicate clearly, and collaborate with cross-functional or geographically distributed teams.
