Job Schedule: 9/80 - Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off

 

Job Description: 

As the System Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting hardware and software requirements definition, decomposition, allocation, management, verification, and validation of technical products and systems.  You will also be assisting in conducting component trade studies, performing system integration, and characterizing system performance.

The Agile Development Group (ADG) specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • System design with Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Define requirements, flow-down and traceability for complex electronic systems.
  • Use system design synthesis of simple systems.
  • Integrate hardware/software implementations of Open System Architectures.
  • Creation of MBSE artifacts for complex hardware/software systems.
  • Creation of modeling of system interfaces and system context models.
  • Develop use cases.
  • Perform design verification testing efforts including lab, chamber, ground, and flight tests.
  • Analyze data from design verification test efforts.
  • Plan cost, schedule, and execution plan of complex development and test activities.
  • Develop and run simulations and other analysis tools to predict system performance in various environments.
  • Present results during internal and external program meetings.
  • Develop, track and present technical metrics.
  • Perform risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies for complex projects.
  • Support/Lead Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team.
  • Implementation of MBSE artifacts and Digital Analysis Tools.
  • Generate supplier statements of work, supplier oversight, auditing of supplier-delivered artifacts.
  • Perform trade studies on a variety of system issues and components.
  • Participate in cost and technical activities supporting proposals.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any additional clearances as required.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant engineering experience OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related engineering experience OR in lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 1 years of demonstrated expertise in Systems Engineering disciplines and the government program acquisition lifecycle, to include requirements definition, creation of requirements verification test matrices, requirements decomposition, requirements traceability, design reviews and documentation, and integration and test.
  • Active US secret security clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Requires proficient knowledge of job area. May have practical knowledge of project management.
  • Experience with RF or radar system components including antenna, receiver, exciter, and processor.
  • Experience in design, development and/or testing of radar and/or other RF systems.
  • System level design experience in which the applicant has been involved in the design and integration of complex hardware/software systems, the definition of multiple interfaces and been involved in the trades of multiple solution options.
  • Hands-on experience being involved in system integration, engineering testing, and system performance characterization.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with and an understanding of aerospace systems, especially in the development of integrated hardware/software products.
  • Experience integrating sensors into air vehicles.
  • Working knowledge of military standards.
  • Familiarity with guided weapons and/or weapon systems. 
  • Experience leading a small team to complete assigned program tasking.
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, specifically Confluence and Jira.
  • Experience working with ICDs, RVTMs, RCCAs, Military Standards.
  • Experience with Cameo or other similar system modeling tool.
  • Experience with Matlab, LabView, Python, or C/C++/C, DOORs.
  • Experience in Control Account Management as part of an Earned Value Management System.
  • Experience in advanced radar sensor system development.
  • Experience with requirements management.
  • Experience with proposal development including generating basis of estimates.
  • Experience in development of use cases developed from customer objectives and concepts of operations.
  • Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).
