The Theater Strike Weapon Systems (TSWS) mission area is looking for our next enthusiastic and motivated Systems Engineering Manager to lead the Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) Battery Operations Center (BOC) and All Up Round (AUR) Emulator (AE) product team. This leader is accountable to the LRHW Hardware Engineering Sr Manager to plan and execute all hardware engineering efforts associated with the design, development, test and delivery of LRHW BOCs, AEs and related assets.
As the BOC Product Manager, you will:
  • Lead a team of mechanical, electrical, systems and project engineers responsible for hardware engineering of the BOC, AE and related elements, including responsibility for technical direction, planning, staffing, and scope execution.
  • Provide world-class engineering support to BOC and AE production operations, driving high quality on-time deliveries through robust and manufacturable designs, disciplined change control, and timely troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Work closely with the BOC and AE Responsible Systems Engineers (RSE) to manage the product team in a broad range of activities to ensure the technical integrity and successful delivery and fielding of the BOC, AE and constituent elements, to include full Systems Engineering lifecycle support from architecture and requirements development through weapon system integration, operations and sustainment.
  • Support Subcontract Program Managers to provide oversight and technical support for major subcontractors and suppliers, including the technical evaluation of supplier proposals.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for BOC Product Engineering with the customer, Hardware Engineering Sr Mgr, other program segments / IPTs, external partners, and subcontractors.
  • Drive critical Engineering skill development, including mechanical and electrical design, system integration, Certified Principal Engineer / Responsible Systems Engineer (CPE/RSE) product ownership, and project management.
  • Grow leaders and mentor team members to cultivate the next generation of Engineering talent.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.
Basic Qualifications
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering and/or Hardware Engineering principles and processes
  • Experience in a technical role on government development programs, or equivalent
  • Experience in an engineering or management role with responsibility for design, development, production, test, integration, and/or operation of spacecraft, missile or related defense systems
  • Demonstrated business acumen, management influence and systems thinking
  • Eligibility to be granted a DoD Secret Level Security Clearance; US Citizenship required

  • Leadership of technical teams to achieve program level objectives
  • Experience with missile system or weapon/fire control design, development, production, test, integration and operation on military host platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, lead troubleshooting and root cause investigations, and resolve complex technical issues and challenges.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
