The IT Systems Analyst serves as a key liaison between laboratory operations, IT, and external partners, supporting the ongoing administration and optimization of our LIMS platform (Element) and related systems. The position is focused on system support, coordination, and continuous improvement, rather than full-scale system development or ownership.

  • Support the day-to-day operation and administration of the Element LIMS platform
  • Partner with laboratory teams to troubleshoot issues, improve workflows, and ensure effective system utilization
  • Coordinate with the LIMS vendor for advanced configuration, enhancements, and issue resolution
  • Maintain system documentation, workflows, and user guides to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing
  • Assist in user access management, data integrity, and system performance monitoring
  • Act as a liaison between lab operations, IT, and external vendors to ensure seamless system support
  • Support integrations between LIMS and other systems (instruments, reporting tools, data platforms)
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for standardization and process improvement across lab locations
  • Help ensure systems align with operational needs and support scalable growth
  • Partner with internal IT and external service providers on infrastructure, access, and system support needs
  • Support broader business systems as needed, with a focus on data flow, usability, and performance
  • Assist in system upgrades, testing, and implementation activities
  • Develop and maintain clear documentation for system processes, configurations, and support procedures
  • Support data integrity, audit readiness, and compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ISO, GLP/GMP where applicable)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on system efficiency and reliability
Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT systems support, business systems analysis, or similar role, prior LIMS experience strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience supporting or working with LIMS platforms (Element, LabWare, STARLIMS, LabVantage, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of laboratory workflows (sample lifecycle, data capture, reporting)
  • Experience troubleshooting system issues and working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
