Job description

Develop electrical and control systems for off-road vehicles and mobile equipment. Lead and manage electrical and control system development projects with responsibility for cost and timeline targets while coordinating appropriate design groups and business functions. Collaborate within a cross-functional team environment, communicating project objectives/strategies to both engineering team members and other groups within the organization.

Define the electrical and control system development strategy for future products. Drive continuous improvement for electrical and control systems. Identify and implement tools to increase productivity.

Technology: Strong working knowledge of MS Office, SolidWorks, Parker IQAN, and Zuken E3 Wireworks preferred. Electrical systems are 12 VDC and 480 VAC. Experience with 12 Volt DC is a plus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work - This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. Flexible 4-day/10-hour schedule is available. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Perform electrical and control system development, component selection, system modeling, BOM generation, risk assessments and problem diagnostics / resolution. Analyze and interpret design specifications, system dynamics, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards and vehicle performance requirements.

Ensure product conformance with industry standards and regulations. Lead design reviews for electrical and control systems and related components during the development process to ensure designs meet requirements, are cost effective, manufacturable, and meet quality targets. Prepare technical data and documentation for reporting in meetings and design reviews.

Develop performance specs, testing plans, test procedures and calibration methodologies for electrical systems and components. Participate in prototype builds and field testing while leading validation of electrical and control system performance. Create and maintain project documentation.

Provide support to on-site business functions including Operations, Service, Supply Chain, Quality and Sales. Support Operations, dealers and end users in troubleshooting electrical and control system issues, as well as providing general support. Ensure that technical issues are addressed within the framework of company policies and procedures.
