The Multi-Product Power & Digital (MPD) department designs FPGAs, circuit cards, and electronics subassemblies for a range of products including missiles/effectors, radars, and electronic warfare systems. The team leverages digital, analog, and power design skills to provide support throughout the product lifecycle from architecture and design through production and sustainment.
We are currently seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer, with strong technical leadership ability, to function as the System Controller Lead for a product line of ground-based radar systems. The System Controller Electronics Lead will join the Multi-Function Radio Frequency System (MFRFS) Engineering team in McKinney, TX and have product responsibility for multiple variants of the radar System Controller Unit (SCU), a digital box the provides radar control and combined processing from multiple array faces.
This position is an onsite role, located in McKinney, TX
What you will do
  • Interface with the factory on the build and testing of the System controllers
  • Lead the design team on any updates to the system controller due to obsolescence including the design and requirements for the system controller
  • Support the sustainment team and assist SMEs in the evaluation of repaired System controller for return to the field
  • Interface between program engineering and program management to the SCU team supporting test and design
  • Communicate with the SCU team on technical issues and assist with prioritization of addressing technical issues
  • Coordinate the status of the technical issues with the program technical leadership team
  • Assist the SCU team with build, design, and troubleshooting as needed

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Electrical hardware design and development experience including design standard adherence
  • Experience with production of a new and/or significantly evolved RF and/or digital modules

Qualifications We Value

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
