Job description

Description:

The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting functions, ensure timely and accurate financial and project reporting, serving as a trusted advisor to the leadership team. This position is for a full-time position in our Irving, Tx office. 

Responsibilities:

- Recommends and establishes company economic strategies, objectives, and policies with the leadership team

- Monthly, quarterly and year-end close out

- Compile and report KPI’s, financial budgets, forecasts and industry benchmarking

- Oversee billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll

- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and balance sheet accounts

- Coordinate with Directors/Billers on project and WIP reporting, employee utilization and revenue recognition

- Ensure compliance with tax filings, payroll reporting and regulatory requirements

- Serve as primary liaison with external CPA firms, insurance agents, 401(k) sponsors and bankers

- Oversee Project Setup, Billing Terms and reporting

- Annual Insurance renewals and Workers’ Comp audit

- 401k funding and annual census preparation for testing

- Overhead Rate and Billing Rate tables

- Project Management reporting, training and support

- Oversee Accounting and Project Management training

Requirements:

Skills:

- Proficiency in Deltek Vision and/or Vantagepoint strongly preferred, but not compulsory

- Proficiency in HRIS Payroll systems and familiar with the payroll tax/ labor compliance requirements

- High level of competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams

- Strong analytical, communication and trouble-shooting skills

- Experience in the A/E/C Industry preferred but not mandatory

- Strong understanding of project management reporting

- Possess a strong understanding of Contract Management

- Proactive in keeping up to date on professional and industry practices


Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required

- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred

- 10 years’ minimum relevant experience

- Prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant or similar role

- Experience working with Project Managers and Operations Teams

- Payroll Administration experience
