Job description

Job Description Summary:

The Support Coach Lead is responsible for teaching, leading, and modeling effective and positive direct care with individuals impacted by a range of behavioral health issues including substance use, trauma, and mental illness as well as individuals with cognitive challenges. The Support Coach Lead will utilize a trauma-informed and person-centered approach to promote healthy interactions and relationships as well as promote feelings of independence and autonomy for all persons served.

Education:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic supervisory experience for a minimum of one (1) year.

Responsibilities:

  • Will ensure Support Coach shifts are covered for 24/7 facility care and work open shifts when assigned staff are not able to work and complete on call duties as assigned.
  • Will effectively train staff, follow training guidelines given by Residential Administrator and ensure competencies are completed, including training in all building drills.
  • Will proactively communicate directly with Supervisor and known issues relating to Support Coach work duties.
  • Will effectively orient and assist new clients with transition to new living environment and assist in completing new client admission documentation.
  • Will complete all duties and appointments as assigned by Residential Administrator.
  • Will lead with positivity with staff and clients.
  • Completes all required documentation within established timeframes and according to quality standards set by State and Federal regulations, CARF certifications, and program expectations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sufficient sensory-motor dexterity to complete motor skills tasks such as operating a keyboard, phone, fax/scanner, copier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity to assist clients in day-to-day living routine.
  • Prolonged sitting, frequent walking and standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Use of a computer
  • TB test upon hire
  • Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be able to use vehicle for travel/transport when requested
