Position Summary:Β 

ECM Consultants is seeking an experiencedΒ Civil-Construction EngineerΒ to perform a full range of engineering functions, including existing-condition assessments, planning, engineering studies, scope-of-work development, cost estimating, design and construction document review, and project schedule review. In this role, you will prepare plans and specifications for construction, maintenance, and repair projects while supporting public health, safety, and welfare through strong quality assurance.Β 

Position Responsibilities:Β 

Project Coordination & DocumentationΒ 

Attend project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and develop meeting agendas.Β 

Prepare plansΒ in accordance withΒ project scopes of work.Β 

Maintain project documents and construction records.Β 

Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, utility companies, and other project stakeholders.Β 

Prepare bid packages, specifications, and project correspondence.Β 

Construction AdministrationΒ 

Review shop drawings and respond to requests for information.Β 

Conduct construction site visits and administer projects of varying types and sizes.Β 

Prepare plan changes and change orders that revise contract quantities or contract time, including explanations of the engineering need for each change.Β 

Review schedules of values and prepare monthly pay estimates for verified and acceptable work quantities.Β 

Write correspondence to contractors thatΒ explainsΒ the intent of plans, specifications, and construction policy.Β 

Quality Assurance & Contract ManagementΒ 

Monitor quality assurance sampling and testing of construction materials.Β 

Evaluate contractor claims and disputes and prepare written responses.Β 

Maintain as-built records, punch-list items, and time-and-material reports.Β 

Team LeadershipΒ 

Supervise CAD drafters, construction inspectors, engineering interns, and testing laboratories.Β 

Provide constructive feedback and coaching to improve employee efficiency and effectiveness.Β 

Lead employees in meeting expectations for productivity, quality, and project goals.Β
