Job description

Phoenix Pharmacy is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy team. This position is ideal for a technician who thrives in a production-focused environment and is excited to work extensively with automated medication packaging technology — specifically the BD Parata SynMed system.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate, efficient medication packaging and supporting the operational needs of our LTC partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, stock, and maintain the BD Parata SynMed automated medication packaging system
  • Use automation to fill multi-dose adherence packaging with accuracy and efficiency
  • Analyze usage data to forecast medication needs and ensure the SynMed device remains properly stocked
  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and packaging medications for LTC facilities
  • Manage inventory, including purchasing from wholesalers and understanding wholesaler contract terms
  • Restock medications and monitor automation supply levels
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant production area
  • Follow all pharmacy regulations, safety standards, and LTC best practices

Qualifications

  • Current Louisiana Certified Pharmacy Technician license
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment
  • Solid understanding of pharmacy law, workflow, and medical terminology
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with automated packaging systems (SynMed preferred)
  • Experience operating automation for multi-dose adherence packaging (preferred)
  • Experience with wholesaler purchasing and familiarity with wholesaler contracts (preferred)
  • Ability to analyze data to support inventory forecasting (preferred)
  • Experience with PioneerRx pharmacy software (desired but not required)
