Job description

As a Sr. Program Analyst, Operations & Synergy, AoA on the Anaplan on Anaplan team, you will serve as the primary operational engine driving Agile execution, project management, Jira governance, and internal enablement operations across our core enterprise planning models and cutting-edge AI initiatives.

In this high-visibility role, you will partner closely with solution architects, model builders, product teams, and senior leaders to structure and accelerate critical program tracks. You will bridge technical delivery and business strategy by facilitating seamless Agile ceremonies, maintaining structured intake workflows, standardizing process documentation, and managing community enablement programs.

This role requires a unique combination of Agile facilitation expertise, structured project management discipline, cross-functional stakeholder coordination, and a strong technical aptitude to master Anaplan's platform ecosystem.  We are open to candidates in the Minneapolis area or who live in a state where Anaplan can do business.

Your Impact

1. Agile Operations & Scrum Leadership

  • Agile Facilitation: Serve as dedicated Scrum Master across active development streams. Facilitate all core Agile ceremonies; including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming/refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives and progress tracking for key active initiatives, ensuring technical teams remain aligned and unblocked.
  • Release Coordination: Coordinate sprint cadences, production deployment schedules, and model/application issue tracking to maintain a high and predictable team velocity and environment readiness.
  • Metrics Tracking & Continuous Improvement: Monitor and analyze sprint health metrics (velocity, story point estimation accuracy, carry-over tickets) to identify workflow bottlenecks and implement continuous Agile process improvements.

2. Project Planning & Documentation

  • Project Execution: Support general project planning by implementing The Anaplan Way (Anaplan's Agile Methodology), milestone tracking, risk management, and overall operational execution for active mid-sized cross-functional initiatives.
  • Macro-Level Scope & Systems Thinking: Evaluate end-to-end business workflows to understand how individual user stories, data integration pipelines, and model features impact broader downstream business processes and planning cycles.
  • Process Standardization & Knowledge Base: Author, organize, and maintain comprehensive process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical runbooks in Confluence to build a robust knowledge repository.
  • Roadmap & Executive Reporting: Assist leadership in aggregating project status updates, roadmap milestones, end-to-end delivery health, and strategic risks into clear, executive-ready presentations and dashboards.

3. Jira Management, Backlog Grooming, Intake, and Triage

  • Intake & Triage Operations: Take an active, lead role in running the intake and triage process for all incoming development feature requests, bug reports, application enhancements, and administrative tasks.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the first line of defense for incoming requirements from internal business stakeholders (Finance, Controllership, HR, Product). Ensure user requests are complete, scoped, clear, and translated into clean, actionable Jira user stories with precise acceptance criteria.
  • Jira Project Ownership: Manage specific projects in Jira, maintaining clean project boards, tracking cross-team deliverables and dependencies, dashboards, and ensuring accurate ticket statuses to support overall program health and visibility.

4. Operational Excellence and Engagement Programs

  • Operational & Strategic Program Support: Administer the day-to-day operational framework for AoA Operations & Synergy, supporting the execution of key strategic initiatives.
  • Enablement Tracking & Logistics: Lead event operations and internal communications for webinars, team workshops, and company-wide hackathons. Manage scheduling, participant tracking, program collateral, and feedback loops to ensure high-impact adoption across the internal Anaplan community.
  • Technical Upskilling: Be a Certified Model Builder and complete Anaplan Level 1 & Level 2 Model Building, The Anaplan Way, and Jira certifications during the onboarding period to establish a deep functional understanding of Anaplan architecture and effectively partner with modelers and architects.

Your Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years experience in project management, Agile facilitation, business process analysis, or technical program operations within a fast-paced SaaS technology company or management consulting environment.
  • Proven ability to analyze enterprise-wide business processes, conduct workflow mapping, assess downstream impacts, and manage cross-functional scope across business units.
  • Ability to operate as both executor and leader. You're the person who does the work and raises the bar for how it gets done
  • Advanced expertise with Jira and Confluence (managing project boards, workflows, custom fields, and dashboards) and process visualization tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Miro). Proficiency with modern collaboration tools (Slack, Zoom, G Suite, Microsoft Office).
  • AI Fluency actively building with and thinking about AI tools (Gemini AI, Claude, Rovo AI, Zoom AI Notetaker) and using them in day-to-day work
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of creating clear, comprehensive technical and operational documentation (SOPs, runbooks, process flow diagrams).
  • Proven ability to navigate conversations across executive sponsors, functional business leads, and technical engineers, translating ambiguous business needs into clear, structured execution plans.
  • Strong enthusiasm and proven ability to quickly learn complex cloud SaaS architectures and enterprise planning software to be able to translate business requirements and coordinate technical needs. (Willingness to complete Anaplan L1/L2/Certified Model Builder, The Anaplan Way, Scrum Master Certification upon hire is required).

Nice to Haves

  • Prior experience with enterprise planning platforms (e.g., Anaplan, Workday, SAP, Oracle) or domain context in Finance/HR/Product
  • Certified Anaplan Model Builder (Level 1 / Level 2 / Level 3), Certified Solution Architect, or The Anaplan Way Certified.
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, or PMP certification is highly desirable
