Do you enjoy solving problems, working with others, and finding ways to make processes more efficient? If so, you might be a good fit for the Accounting Associate position within Ingevity's Covington VA plant.
In this role, you'll play an important part in supporting both finance and plant operations-helping ensure accurate reporting, improving processes, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day function of the plant.
This is a great opportunity to build your accounting career in a manufacturing environment where your work has visible impact. You'll collaborate with teams across the business, gain hands-on experience with core financial processes, and develop your skills in a supportive, team-oriented setting.
What You'll Do:
  • Partner with operations teams to review and resolve production discrepancies and support accurate reporting in SAP
  • Build experience in fixed asset accounting, including asset setup, capitalization, and ongoing review
  • Serve as a key contact for accounts payable activities, helping troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth processing using Coupa and SAP
  • Contribute to monthly financial close by reconciling production orders, inventory, and analyzing variances
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and help implement solutions that enhance efficiency
  • Get involved in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives that support the broader business

What You'll Bring:
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience or exposure to accounting or financial analysis (manufacturing experience is helpful but not required)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP (or a willingness to learn)
  • Comfort working with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn from others
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work across teams
  • Curiosity and a proactive mindset when it comes to problem-solving and improving processes
