As a Software Engineer II, iOS at Favor, you will create the tools and applications necessary to connect customers, Runners, merchants, and support teams and work closely with product and operations teams to understand customer needs, build simple solutions to complex problems, and deliver delightful experiences to all users.

What you'll do
  • Assist in research and fact finding to develop or modify applications.
  • Fix bugs and perform updates to the code base while working closely with senior engineers.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of development projects.
  • Partner with cross‑functional technology teams to integrate solutions.
  • Responsible for all phases of development, testing, and deployment of native iOS applications.
Skills you have
  • A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience.
  • 2–3 years of professional iOS development experience with a portfolio of apps in the App Store.
  • Knowledge of application testing strategies including unit, integration, end‑to‑end, and performance tests.
  • Deep proficiency in Swift and a solid understanding of the iOS SDK, UIKit, and core frameworks (Core Location, MapKit, or Core Animation are massive pluses).
  • Familiarity with modern architectural patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, or VIPER.
  • Experience handling asynchronous networking, RESTful APIs, and WebSockets.
  • Proficient with Xcode, Git, and automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions).
  • A problem‑solver who cares deeply about user experience (UX) and understands the real‑world impact of a mobile bug.
Who you are
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical (UX, design, product management and across engineering teams) and non‑technical stakeholders and work with other engineers in a collaborative and iterative environment.
  • Ability to take technical direction to deliver well‑scoped work.
  • Appreciation of simple design and a love to write clean, well‑tested code - test first or TDD approaches are a plus.
  • Experience in a high‑growth startup is a plus.

Where you'll work: This role can be hybrid or remote, depending on the team member’s location in Texas. If you live in Austin, Texas, we ask that you work from home roughly three days per week and work at our HQ for the remaining work days. If you live in a different city in Texas, you will primarily work from home, with the opportunity to travel to Austin for company‑wide events.
