Job Title: Sybase DBA Operations Production Support

Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)
Fulltime

Role Summary

The Sybase DBA will be responsible for daytoday operations stability and availability of Sybase ASE databases in production and nonproduction environments This role focuses on BAU support incidentproblem management proactive monitoring and change execution in line with ITIL processes

Key Responsibilities Operations Focus

Database Operations Support

Provide L2L3 operational support for Sybase ASE 12x 15x 16x environments across Production UAT and DR

Monitor database health availability capacity and performance on a 247 basis

Manage database startstop space management devices segments and DB options

Perform routine user login role and permission management

Incident Problem Change Management

Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents s and performance issues

Support root cause analysis RCA and problem management for recurring issues

Execute planned changes including upgrades patching refreshes and maintenance windows

Adhere to ITIL processes Incident Change Problem Service Requests using tools like ServiceNow Remedy

Backup Recovery DR

Implement and monitor backup and recovery strategies

Perform database restores and support DR drills and audits

Ensure backup success retention and recovery compliance

Performance Stability

Perform basic performance tuning locks waits space tempdb IO bottlenecks

Monitor resource usage CPU memory disk and raise proactive capacity risks

Support application teams for slowrunning queries and DBrelated issues

Platform Environment Management

Support database operations on UNIXLinuxWindows platforms

Assist with Sybase installation configuration and patching

Support database refreshes across environments Prod UATTest and crossplatform refreshes

Documentation Governance

Maintain runbooks SOPs and operational documentation

Generate operational reports availability incidents backups changes

Support audits SLAKPI reporting and compliance requirements

Required Skills MustHave

Strong experience in Sybase ASE administration 12x 15x 16x

Handson production support operations experience
