Job description

Are you ready?

As a Business Development Manager, you will develop business in the end user or contractor market. You will lead the coordination of resources and leverage relationships to create new business opportunities. Business Development Managers are responsible for creating new customer relationships, developing leads and closing sales. We are looking for someone with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills who loves the thrill of closing the sale.

Extensive switchgear knowledge preferred.

In this role you will:

  • Prospect for new business, develop leads, close sales
  • Sell Graybar's solutions platform
  • Conduct sales presentations to potential customers
  • Provide expertise to end users, installers, consultants, engineers, etc. regarding product specifications
  • Participate in professional organizations to enhance lead generation potential
  • Meet or exceed assigned annual sales and profitability budgets

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to network and make connections
  • 6+ years experience in sales, marketing or operations preferred
  • Ability to travel

Compensation Details: The expected base salary for this position is starting at $115,000 annually depending on experience. This position is also bonus eligible - based on specific and relevant business metrics.

This role requires the use of your personal vehicle for business purposes. Graybar offers a Fixed and Variable Rate (FAVR) reimbursement program to support eligible drivers. This program allows you to choose and drive your own vehicle, rather than a company-assigned car, and your reimbursements can help you build equity in your vehicle over time. Please note that certain vehicle requirements, such as age and original MSRP, may impact your eligibility for tax-free reimbursement.
