Position Summary

The Sweets Counter Department Lead oversees the daily operation of the sweets counter, ensuring an inviting customer experience, high product quality, accurate merchandising, and a well-supported team. This role leads by example, maintains food-safety and cleanliness standards, manages inventory, and helps drive sales through attractive displays and excellent service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day sweets counter operations, including opening, closing, stocking, and product presentation.
  • Deliver friendly, knowledgeable customer service and help customers select products.
  • Train, coach, and support department team members.
  • Maintain appealing displays, signage, pricing, and product rotation.
  • Monitor product freshness, quality, and availability; remove or report damaged or expired items.
  • Place orders, receive deliveries, track inventory, and minimize waste.
  • Follow all food-safety, sanitation, allergen, and workplace-safety procedures.
  • Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when needed.
  • Support promotions, seasonal displays, sampling events, and sales goals.
  • Complete required paperwork, cash-handling procedures, and department reports accurately.
  • Collaborate with store leadership and other departments to maintain a smooth customer experience.
Qualifications
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills.
  • Ability to organize tasks, prioritize work, and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
