Description
Under the direct supervision of the Dean of Nursing for the Swedish Institute, College of Health Sciences, the Adjunct Clinical Nursing Instructor will be responsible for assisting undergraduate nursing students to achieve clinical course objectives by instruction, supervision, and evaluation in the clinical practice setting.
  • The adjunct clinical instructor will provide formative and summative evaluations and provide appropriate learning experience to support student learning
  • The instructor must demonstrate advanced knowledge and clinical skills appropriate to the clinical area of practice
  • Facilitate student learning in the clinical setting by coaching students to translate knowledge into the attitudes and skills required to give safe high-quality patient care
  • Supervise and instruct with individual attention to students in the clinical setting
  • Evaluate student performance in the clinical setting; provide frequent student feedback to enable success

Requirements
  • Submit an "official" copy of all transcripts earned from an accredited college or university. All faculty members are graduates of institutions accredited by agencies recognized by the United States Department of Education. Institutions outside the United States must be recognized by their governments and their transcripts must be translated into English, if needed, and be evaluated by a member of the Association of International Credentials Evaluators (AICE) or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) to determine the equivalency of the credentials to credentials awarded by institutions in the United States.
  • Provide copies of professional licenses, certifications, professional organization memberships, and CEU's related to field of specialty. Maintain a regular professional development plan.
  • Adhere to all faculty requirements, policies and procedures as outlined in the faculty handbook.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Maintain and submit accurate student attendance in the clinical rotation.
  • Complete any required student interim progress reports.
  • Post all final (clinical) grades in VIAS and send a copy of grades via e-mail or in hardcopy to the Dean and the Registrar.
  • Check Swedish Institute email daily and respond to staff emails within 48 hours.
  • Follow and reinforce college policies (dress code, cell phone use, etc.) in the clinical setting.
