Sveltekit information

What is SvelteKit?

SvelteKit is a modern framework for building web applications using Svelte, a reactive JavaScript library. It provides a robust set of tools for routing, server-side rendering, static site generation, and more, making it easy to create fast and scalable web apps. SvelteKit streamlines the development process by integrating features like TypeScript support, file-based routing, and seamless deployment options. It's designed to offer an optimized developer experience and improved performance for users.

What are the typical collaboration dynamics for a SvelteKit developer within a cross-functional team?

As a SvelteKit developer, you’ll often collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, backend engineers, and project managers to deliver seamless web applications. Daily responsibilities may include participating in stand-up meetings, integrating frontend components with APIs, and reviewing code with teammates to maintain quality standards. Clear communication and an understanding of the full development lifecycle are vital, as you’ll frequently need to translate design concepts into interactive user experiences while ensuring alignment with backend data flows. This collaborative environment offers valuable learning opportunities and exposure to a variety of technologies, supporting both professional growth and team cohesion.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a SvelteKit developer?

To thrive as a SvelteKit Developer, you need a strong grasp of JavaScript, TypeScript, modern web development principles, and a solid understanding of Svelte and SvelteKit frameworks. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, deployment tools, and RESTful APIs, as well as experience using build tools such as Vite or Rollup, is typically required. Standout soft skills include problem-solving, effective communication, and adaptability to rapidly changing technologies. These skills and qualities are crucial for building efficient, scalable web applications and collaborating effectively within development teams.

Job description

Matic is an AI-native clinical intelligence platform designed to orchestrate care-to-collection workflows the way clinicians actually practice. Through a growing suite of modular AI agentic solutions, Matic connects clinical documentation, summaries, coding, workflow, and follow-up into a unified and connected intelligence layer that preserves clinical intent, reduces fragmentation, and integrates seamlessly within existing physician systems.

About the role
We're looking for a versatile Full-Stack Engineer who is comfortable owning work end-to-end - from polished SvelteKit UIs to Python/Node backend APIs to cloud infrastructure. A key part of this role will be leading application development for a new healthcare group partnership, where you'll take projects from zero to one: implementing UIs from Figma, defining database schemas, architecting cloud function infrastructure, and building integrations with the tools and systems our health group partners already use.
Beyond that greenfield work, you'll wear multiple hats across the broader Matic platform. Some days you will be building new product features, other days debugging an AI output quality issue with a physician or wiring up an EHR integration. If you thrive in dynamic environments and want your work to have a direct, meaningful impact on healthcare, this role is for you.
What you'll do
  • Lead new application development for healthcare group partnerships, generating AI mockups to communicate functionality and design direction, proposing database schemas, setting up cloud infrastructure, and building API integrations with existing partner tools and workflows - all in close collaboration with the Matic team.
  • Build and maintain full-stack features in our SvelteKit application, owning both front-end implementation and back-end APIs.
  • Deploy and maintain Google Cloud infrastructure across Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and other GCP primitives in both Node.js and Python runtimes.
  • Develop and maintain LLM integrations, including prompt engineering, model routing, evaluation, and output quality testing across hosted and self-managed AI platforms.
  • Build agentic AI workflows that automate clinical documentation tasks and integrate our platform with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, eClinicalWorks, Athena) via FHIR and proprietary APIs.
  • Triage and resolve AI quality issues flagged by physicians, diagnosing failure modes in note generation and applying targeted fixes.
  • Write comprehensive tests and actively participate in QA to ensure our AI deployments work reliably in clinical settings.
  • Collaborate directly with physicians to understand clinical workflows firsthand and translate their feedback into product improvements.

Qualifications
Required
  • Strong Python and/or Node.js skills, including REST APIs, async patterns, and serverless functions
  • Production experience with SvelteKit and TypeScript
  • Proficiency with Tailwind CSS and the ability to translate Figma designs into polished UI
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GCS, IAM, and related services
  • Firebase / Firestore experience
  • Practical experience working with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar), including prompt engineering, function calling, and output evaluation
  • Rigorous attention to detail and a strong testing mindset; our systems operate in clinical environments where errors have real consequences, and we hold a strict "don't ship broken" standard regardless of how the code was written
  • Fluent English with clear written and verbal communication skills - essential when working directly with clinical users
Preferred
  • Experience with EHR integrations or FHIR standards
  • Background in or exposure to healthcare / clinical workflows
  • Familiarity with agentic frameworks
  • Experience with vector databases or RAG pipelines
  • Experience building instrumentation dashboards
  • Experience building test suites
  • Experience with AI-led workflows
  • Experience with deep product analytics
Why This Role?
  • The new healthcare partner application is greenfield, meaning you'll make the foundational decisions that shape what it becomes rather than inheriting someone else's architecture.
  • The features you build are used by physicians during patient encounters, the quality issues you fix affect real documentation, and the integrations you wire up reduce real administrative burden. The impact is direct and tangible.
  • From SvelteKit to GCP to LLM integrations to EHR APIs, this isn't a role where you specialize yourself into a corner. You'll develop depth across the full delivery surface of a modern AI platform.
  • Matic is a small, senior, focused team. There's no layer of abstraction between your work and the people who depend on it - internally or in the field.
