Facilities Intern Position Overview

The Facilities Intern will support the Facilities team in maintaining safe, secure, and efficient banking environments across branch and office locations. This role provides hands-on exposure to building operations, vendor coordination, regulatory compliance, and workplace services within a highly regulated financial institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with day-to-day facilities operations, including work order tracking and site maintenance
  • Support preventive maintenance programs for building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety)
  • Participate in branch and office inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper operation
  • Assist with furniture set up, painting, minor landscaping and general tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain facilities records, work to develop asset lists, and compliance documentation
  • Support sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives, where applicable
  • Respond to facilities-related requests from facilities manager and escalate issues as needed
  • Assist with special projects such as renovations, audits, or emergency preparedness planning
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Basic knowledge of building systems and workplace safety is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to communicate professionally with internal teams and external vendors
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of professionalism
