Job description


Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Building Systems Technician to join our Building Utilities and Maintenance team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
Position Summary:
Position that provides direct HVAC support to PN Clinics and assigned projects in order to achieve corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance solutions via application of Engineering initiatives, tools and processes.
  • Ensures optimum efficiency and reliability of electrical, mechanical, automation and other utility systems for all PNHS clinic locations.
  • Functions independently and within a team of coworkers and contractors
  • Troubleshoots issues with complex HVAC and controls systems.
  • Interfaces with and acts as a liaison to a wide variety of internal clients, including clinic staff, patients, and clinic leadership.
    • Educates and advises facility occupants regarding system operations for facility comfort and safety.
    • Ability to educate clinic leadership on decision implications and make recommendations based upon experience and expertise.
  • Understands impact of operational decisions with respect to comfort, safety, compliance, finance, and energy.
  • May exert some influence in the adoption of new maintenance systems or products by covering several of the following: ongoing maintenance, educating new products.
  • Able to provide direct assistance to Supervisor/Manager with strategic operations of the clinic maintenance and work alongside the clinic staff to accomplish overall maintenance objectives. Likely provides a moderate amount of work direction to others to successfully accomplish work assignments. Work varies from moderately complex to complex.
  • Participates in major projects, clearly communicates requirements from an operational perspective to the project team.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday: 6:00am-2:30pm
Required Qualifications:
  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • Experience operating building automation systems required.
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
    • Must have a valid driver's license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Park Nicollet's motor vehicle violation criteria (see attached addendum).
    • Requires 2nd Class "C" Boilers License for the State of Minnesota.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • Associate degree in HVAC and electrical maintenance preferred.
    • Experience in a maintenance lead role for five years or equivalent desired.
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
    • Power Limited Technician License desirable.
    • Valid Refrigerant CFC Certification desirable.
