Overview
We seek a skilled Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate should have experience in sushi preparation, as well as a strong background in fine dining and food safety standards. This role offers the chance to showcase knife skills and culinary artistry in a comfortable and entertaining restaurant environment, thus delivering an exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Candidates with experience in dietary departments, menu planning, and food handling are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of sushi dishes with precision and creativity, adhering to traditional techniques and presentation standards
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining high standards of food safety
  • Assist in menu planning and development to introduce innovative sushi options and seasonal specials
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils
  • Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and quality of seafood, rice, vegetables, and other supplies
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate meal preparation during service hours
  • Uphold high standards of food handling, knife skills, and culinary techniques to deliver exceptional quality dishes
  • Provide excellent food service by engaging with guests when appropriate and ensuring their satisfaction

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef

Pay:$20 - $30 per hour

Job Type: Part-time / Full-time

Expected hours: 15 - 35 per week

Shift:

  • 2 - 5 days
  • 3:30-6pm prep and
  • 6pm-11pm shift

Interested candidates: should meet the following criteria:
The applicant needs to be able to demonstrate the following required functions:
1. Chef must have excellent knife skills. 2. Chef Must have knowledge of preparing and creating all types of sushi dishes 3. Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines.
4. Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
5. Follows recipes and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
6. Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.
7. Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills.
8. Has knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station.
9. Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen and all storage areas.
10.. Responsible for preparing sauces and sushi items for our guests in accordance with Sushi Lucy's guidelines. 11. Monitors and ensures the portioning of foods prepared at the sushi bar and maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of the sushi bar and equipment.
