Who we are looking for...
We are seeking a Survey Crew Chief, with an innovative mindset, strong time management skills, organization, good work ethic, and someone ready to make an impact in the communities ETM serves. The following skills will be required for this position:
  • Assist in the setup and operation of surveying instruments, such as total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
  • Perform basic measurements, readings, and calculations during field surveys.
  • Assist in the collection of survey data, including field notes, measurements, and observations.
  • Support the proper documentation and organization of survey data.
  • Work collaboratively with other crew members and under the guidance of senior crew members or surveyors.
  • Follow instructions and guidance from senior crew members or surveyors to complete assigned tasks.
  • Assist in the transportation and setup of surveying equipment in the field.
  • Provide general assistance to the survey crew as needed.
  • Assist in the maintenance and care of surveying instruments, equipment, and tools.
  • Follow proper procedures for the cleaning, storage, and transportation of equipment.
  • Report any equipment issues or needs to senior crew members or surveyors.
  • Assist in the proper documentation and organization of survey data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the transfer and integration of field data into surveying software or databases.
  • Collaborate with senior crew members or surveyors to resolve data discrepancies or issues.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for the survey crew.
  • Participate in safety briefings and training sessions to maintain a safe work practice.
  • Report any safety concerns or hazards to senior crew members or surveyors.
  • Actively learn and develop surveying skills and knowledge under the guidance of senior crew members or surveyors.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment.
  • Participate in training and development activities as directed.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years survey experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment is advantageous.
