This Opportunity:
  • Assist with field surveys across multiple project types, including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys
  • Support data reduction, digital terrain modeling, and surface creation
  • Prepare right-of-way plats, certified survey maps, boundary surveys, and other survey-related documents
  • Assist with drafting and survey computations
  • Collaborate with project teams while maintaining the ability to work independently in the field
  • Travel as needed to support project demands

Essential Qualifications
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime as project schedules require
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors for 8-12 hours in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to travel for projects, meetings, and overnight stays as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with basic surveying procedures, including:
    • Boundary and land surveys
    • Topographic surveys
    • Construction staking methods using Total Stations and GPS
  • Experience with drafting, survey computations, and interpreting plans and easement descriptions
  • Field experience using Trimble survey equipment
  • Working knowledge of:
    • AutoCAD
    • Trimble Business Center
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)

This position requires an MVR records check verifying that you possess a valid driver's license and a driving record which meets the requirements of SEH's Driving Program.
