Job Description 

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Settlement Monitoring Specialist to join our team in New York City. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our clients remain compliant with the Department of Buildings (DOB) mandated requirements. You will be responsible for conducting optical settlement monitoring for Support of Excavation (SOE), demolition, and foundation work during construction activities. The ideal candidate will have experience using advanced optical instruments and monitoring technology to deliver precise, real-time data, ensuring structural integrity and safety. Duties/Responsibilities

  • Be the lead in the preparation and provide clarity on readings provided by the field team through the issuance of timely initial and progress reports. 
  • Plan, coordinate and schedule project work tasks for multiple projects. 
  • Oversee settlement monitoring surveys of New Building Construction and their adjacent properties to ensure any movement is documented clearly and presented to our clients in a timely fashion.   
  • Check and reduce raw field data, perform calculations and download/file survey data 
  • Oversee the location of boundary lines within MTA and LIRR tunnel structures and above ground property to ensure  
  • Lead the survey control team to provide accurate control points for laser scanning activities. Ensure all control points are meticulously placed and verified.  
  • Oversee the Implementation of the highest quality assurance protocols to maintain the highest standards of surveying accuracy and consistency. 

Requirements 

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Land Surveyor 
  • New York State license is required, New Jersey State license is also preferred.  
  • Proficient in all Leica monitoring station equipment models and all applicable software that goes with adjacent property optical monitoring.  
  • Excellent communication skills  

Compensation

$125,00-$150,000 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
