Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform c-sections for patients.
You will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the Family Birth Place team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.
To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.

  • Uses physician preference card to identify supplies and equipment needed for the scheduled surgical or emergency procedures.
  • Updates preference cards with necessary changes.
  • Prepares and sterilizes supplies and equipment used in surgical procedures.
  • Prepares solutions and medications used.
  • Properly labels and reports amounts used for charting.
  • Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment and medications/solutions needed for procedure.
Job Requirements

  • AHA BLS within 30 days
  • One of the following at hire:
    • Graduate of accredited program and certified (NBSTSA/NCCT).
