Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will support surgeons and other medical professionals by ensuring the operating room is prepared and sterile, handling surgical instruments, and assisting throughout procedures to maintain optimal patient outcomes. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to safety and quality care.

Duties

  • Prepare and organize the operating room and sterile equipment for various surgical procedures.
  • Assist surgeons by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field during operations.
  • Monitor and anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
  • Perform instrument counts to ensure accuracy and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in electronic health record systems, such as Epic or Meditech.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and workflow efficiency.

Experience

  • MUST HAVE MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS OF CARDIOTHORASIC-TRAINING
  • Experience with a range of surgical procedures, including general surgery, orthopedics, and trauma cases.

Requirements

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is required.
  • Active Minnesota state certification or eligibility for certification.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
