Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the full surgical experience: pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care 
  • Prepare instruments, equipment, and the operating room for procedures 
  • Assist the physician during procedures as needed 
  • Verify correct patient, procedure, and surgical site in the OR 
  • Ensure all medications and solutions (including tumescent) are clearly and properly labeled 
  • Maintain a sterile environment and clean/disinfect surgical instruments and rooms 
  • Educate patients and caregivers on procedures, medications, and discharge instructions 
  • Support patient discharge and return post-op calls 
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and audit patient records 

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instruments, and instrument trays 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety and labeling standards 
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication, including basic report writing 
  • Familiarity with MS Office, especially Excel 
  • Able to interpret written, diagram, and verbal instructions 
  • Basic math proficiency 
  • Experience in patient care and working with physicians and caregivers 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods 
  • Regular use of computer, phone, and other office equipment 
  • Lift and move up to 25 lbs. as needed 
  • Good vision and hearing to interact safely and effectively in a surgical setting
