Full job Description:
Position Summary:
Responsible for supporting the front office in a busy, fast paced environment. Must enjoy patient care and strive to better patient relations while maintaining office efficiency. Primary responsibilities include: reception, answering phones, scheduling office, radiology and surgery appointments. Surgical chart prep, billing, maintain task list and physician referrals, insurance referrals and prior authorizations, patient education, patient triage, processing of appointment recalls, prescription refills and appropriate patient paperwork. Will also cross train in back-office duties.
Principle Job Duties:
  • Surgery scheduling and preparation for multiple providers
  • Receptionist duties
  • Front office supply ordering
  • Billing and coding
  • Patient education
  • Schedule appointments by phone or in person
  • Handle patient notifications.
  • Triage patients
  • Process patient referrals, lab requests, etc.
  • Process prescription refills
  • Cross train in back-office duties.
  • Proper processing of insurance authorization and patient paperwork
  • Provide support to team members in providing excellent patient care.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to use discretion, confidentiality and sensitivity with patients.
  • Must have a strong passion for working in patient care.
  • Prior surgery scheduling experience preferred.
  • Understanding of ICD/CPT codes and medical terminology
  • Good analytical, oral communication and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
