Baystate Health is seeking an Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical/Surgical team at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, Massachusetts. Our Medical/Surgical team provides high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse inpatient population, working closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, care managers, rehabilitation specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
The Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, evidence-based care while building meaningful relationships with patients, families, and colleagues in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Baystate Wing Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited, 74-bed community hospital and designated Primary Stroke Service serving Central and Western Massachusetts. The Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) Will:
  • Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Monitor patient conditions, identify changes in status, and intervene appropriately to support positive outcomes.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, discharge planning, and health management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and shared governance activities.
  • Support a culture of compassion, professionalism, teamwork, and respect for patients, families, and colleagues.

  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Shift: Days and Nights Available
  • Hours: 36 Hours Per Week
  • Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts
  • Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
  • On-Call Requirement: None
  • Other Scheduling Requirements: Rotating Holidays

Required Skills
  • Successfully passed the Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification required.
  • Diploma in Nursing required.

  • Previous inpatient nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting.

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

$41.82 - $54.06 - $66.30
