Job description


Inova Franconia-Springfield Ambulatory Surgery Center is currently hiring an experienced PRN Surgical/Scrub Tech (ST) to become an integral member of our team, delivering unparalleled care to our patients. This position has either 8, 9 or 10 hour shifts available and is day shift only, no nights, weekends, call, or holidays. Join us in shaping the future of healthcare.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Scrub surgical procedures under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Assist with transferring patient to the operating room table; assist with positioning the patient, using appropriate equipment and anatomical principles to avoid patient injury
  • Perform initial instrument, sharps and sponge counts with the circulator
  • Prepare and maintain supplies, instruments, equipment and rooms for surgical procedures
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedure
  • Recognize safety hazards and initiates appropriate corrective and/or preventive measures
  • Perform other related duties as a key member of the team supporting the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two or more years of Surgical Tech (ST) experience
  • Completion of an appropriate Surgical Tech program
  • Surgical Tech certification or experience required
  • Registered to practice in the State of Virginia
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • BLS certification is required
