Job Opportunity: Orthopedic Surgeon in Sullivan, MO
Join a dynamic medical team at a well-respected facility!
Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital, a proud member of BJC HealthCare, is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to join our high-demand, multi-specialty clinic in Sullivan, Missouri-just one hour from St. Louis. Our hospital offers a strong referral base, modern facilities, and a robust support system in a vibrant and welcoming community.
Job Responsibilities
  • Join a well-established, multi-specialty clinic located on the hospital campus.
  • Collaborate with two current orthopedic surgeons and other primary care providers.
  • Provide high-quality orthopedic care with flexibility to shape your practice.
  • Conduct patient consultations, surgeries, follow-ups, and in-office procedures.
  • Perform inpatient hospital care or collaborate with hospitalist teams for coverage.
  • Participate in flexible call rotation and weekend coverage.
  • Use Epic EMR system for documentation and in-basket management.
  • Work closely with a tenured CRNA team and on-campus specialty support.
  • Be involved in teaching or collaborating with APPs and clinic staff.
  • Practice in a high HPSA score location (eligible for J1 visa sponsorship).
  • Operate within a state-of-the-art facility that includes advanced ORs, emergency services, therapy and wellness center, wound care center, and more.
  • Manage the medical care of your patient panel, including inpatient hospital care directly or via qualified covering physicians per medical staff guidelines.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and care team members to ensure optimal outcomes across designated BJC locations.
  • Perform and document detailed medical histories and physical examinations in accordance with hospital medical staff bylaws.
  • Provide or coordinate call coverage for clinic and inpatient care, adhering to BJC policies and applicable professional standards.
  • Teach and collaborate with advanced practice providers, clinical staff, and other care team members involved in your patient care.
  • Maintain a high level of alertness and safety in all aspects of care, recognizing the role as safety-sensitive within BJC standards.

Qualifications
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • MO License (or willing to obtain).
  • 2 years of experience in Orthopedic Surgery (2-5 years of experience is highly preferred).
  • DEA certification (must be obtained prior to start).
  • CSR/CDS certification (must be obtained prior to start).
  • Clean Malpractice & License History is highly preferred.
  • Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active) is required at presentation.
License and Certification Requirements
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • DEA certification.
  • CSR/CDS certification.
  • MO License (or willingness to obtain).
