Instrument Fitter - O&M North Slope Construction JOB SUMMARYThe Instrument Fitter is responsible for testing, inspecting, installing, repairing, and maintaining instruments and control equipment. This position updates instrumentation diagrams, documentation, and PLC programs in accordance with Company requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESReview blueprints, schematic drawings, P&ID's, and job specifications to determine work requirements.
Troubleshoot and maintain vessel level measurement equipment, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control valves, wellhead surface and sub-surface safety systems, three phase separator instrumentation, isolated ground systems, turbine generator controls, gas compressor controls, and module HVAC controls.
Regularly perform calibration checks on various custody transfer meters, including but not limited to: Schlumberger Vx Multi Phase Meters, Daniels Ultrasonic Gas Flow meters, and Micromotion Coriolis Flow meters.
Test, inspect, install, repair, and maintain instruments and control equipment, including electrical systems, signal generating instruments, control systems, programmable logic controllers, and power distribution systems.
Troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation in hazardous atmospheres and in varying environmental conditions, including extreme cold and heat.
Perform energy isolation tasks on high voltage, low voltage, and pressure systems in a safe manner.
Perform loop checks and troubleshoot systems for operational efficiency.
Prepare material take offs and order the required supplies and equipment.
Maintain records, logs, and schedules of all requests and work orders.
Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed require.
Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCEA valid (U.S issued) Driver's License is required.
A High School Diploma or GED is required.
The ability to work 80.5 - 84 hours a week on a 2x2, 3x3, or 4x2 rotation is required.
A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.
A minimum of minimum of six (6) years' experience as an Instrument Fitter is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSFive (5) or more years' experience working in a Construction/Industrial setting, the Oil and Gas/Petrochemical industry, and/or the North Slope/Arctic environment is preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPEWhile working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet are free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.
