Job description

Job Summary

The Silk Screen Lead is responsible for applying designs and logos to metal surfaces using silk screening techniques. This role requires attention to detail, creativity, and a strong understanding of the silk screening process to ensure high-quality finishes on all products. making negatives, creation of screens and application of screening on precision metals, as wells as ensuring products are of high quality and production expectations are met.

Essential Functions
  • Set up and operate silk screening equipment for metal surfaces.

  • Responsible for creating screens for industrial printing applications.

  • Design screens to customer specifications according to blueprints, customer documents, and other requirements to create correct screen set ups.

  • Responsible for preparation/identifying proper ink mixing and application of screen prints to various fabricated materials to meet customer specifications.

  • Ensure proper alignment and registration of designs during the printing process.

  • Must be able to operate, calibrate, maintain maintenance, and troubleshoot a variety of screen-printing equipment.

  • Must be able to read and understand job material and finishing requirements for precision sheet metal, machining, and finishing.

  • Conduct quality control checks to maintain high standards of accuracy and finish.

  • Maintains inventory of supplies needed to operate machines.

  • Ability to constantly monitor, suggest improvements to design process and update processes to create quality results.

  • Adhere to fast paced production schedules.

  • Assist teammates in other nearby functional areas when required.

  • Communicate with production and shipping teams on daily schedule requirements.

  • Adhere to all required health and safety mandates.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous experience in silk screening, particularly on metal surfaces, is preferred

  • Knowledge of inks, materials, and equipment used in silk screening.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

  • Ability to operate or to quickly learn to operate various printing machines and related software.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision

  • Must be able to lift up to 25+ pounds at a time and stand for long periods of time.

Work Environment

This position is predominantly in a metal manufacturing shop that is clean and fast paced. Some exposure to noise. Exposure to various equipment is typical.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is 06:00AM – 2:30PM, Monday - Friday
