Job description

As a Technical Lead, GCSS - Aerospace, Capabilities, you will lead the design, development, and technical oversight of custom software solutions delivered by the Global Custom Software Solutions (GCSS) team. You will leverage your in-depth expertise across multiple technical disciplines to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture and development standards. You will provide technical leadership to Agile teams, guiding design and implementation decisions, reviewing code, and promoting best practices in software engineering. You will work on complex initiatives, applying strong analytical thinking and sound judgment to solve technical challenges and deliver high-quality solutions. Acting as a central point of coordination, you will collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, architects, product owners, and senior stakeholders to support alignment, influence technical decisions, and translate business needs into effective solutions. You will work with globally distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones. The role contributes to the implementation of technical strategy, supports continuous improvement across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and promotes the adoption of AI tools to enhance development efficiency and code quality. In addition, you will mentor and support development teams, fostering technical growth and alignment with Agile practice. This position reports to a Delivery Manager within the Global Custom Software Solutions (GCSS) team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and technical implementation of custom software solutions, incorporating AI-assisted design and development practices.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Present and defend technical designs at Architecture Review Boards (ARB) and influence key technical decisions.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and drive the adoption of AI, cloud-native, and data-driven solutions.
  • Review code and technical designs to ensure quality, compliance with standards, and validation of AI-generated code.
  • Guide and mentor development teams on architecture, design patterns, coding practices, and technical excellence.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including the adoption of modern engineering and AI-enabled development tools.
  • Identify, assess, and resolve complex technical issues, risks, and dependencies across solutions.
  • Drive observability practices, including logging, monitoring, metrics, and distributed tracing across services.
  • Contribute to backlog refinement, estimation, and technical planning activities, leveraging expertise in .NET, C#, Angular, Azure, AWS, microservices, and APIs to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions.

Qualifications

  • Only US Citizens, Green Card holders, political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply
  • 8+ years of experience in software analysis, design, development, and implementation using .NET/C#, including at least 2 years in a Technical Lead or equivalent leadership role
  • Experience with ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, and microservices architecture
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server, Entity Framework Core, and database design
  • Experience developing web applications using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, and JavaScript
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, including App Services, Azure Functions, Storage, and Application Insights
  • Experience with Azure cloud-native services and architectures
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control, and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, secure authentication (Azure AD, OAuth 2.0, JWT), and scalable application design
  • Experience with application monitoring, logging, telemetry, and troubleshooting distributed systems
  • Experience performing code reviews and enforcing development standards and best practices
  • Experience leading technical design discussions, mentoring development teams, and driving technical excellence
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools and AI-generated code validation
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with AWS cloud services
    • Experience with Power BI, and enterprise integrations
    • Experience with .NET MAUI mobile application development
