Doorman - Big Chill Surf Cantina

Summary of Position: At Big Chill Surf Cantina, we’re all about good vibes, great company, and keeping it cool—and our Bouncers are at the frontlines of making that happen. If you’ve got a calm presence, know how to read a room, and can keep things safe, this might be the perfect role for you. The Bouncer is the ultimate vibe-keeper at Big Chill Surf Cantina. You’ll greet every guest with a warm welcome, keep an eye out for safety concerns, de-escalate any rowdy behavior, and ensure everyone—guests and staff alike—can enjoy the ride.

Duties amp; Responsibilities:

  • Be the face of chill—greet guests with a friendly attitude and make everyone feel like part of the Cantina fam from the moment they arrive
  • Keep it safe: monitor the crowd and venue to ensure a relaxed and secure environment at all times
  • Control foot traffic, check IDs, and spot fake ones like a pro
  • Enforce dress code and company policies in a respectful and professional way
  • Stay alert and proactively prevent or de-escalate any heated situations before they become a problem
  • Use your best judgment and make quick calls that are in the best interest of the team and guests
  • Be a brand ambassador—carry yourself with confidence, lead with respect, and represent what the Big Chill is all about

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21+ years old
  • Prior hospitality, nightlife, or restaurant, and/or security experience is a plus, but not required
  • A naturally calm, confident presence and the ability to take charge when needed
  • Strong communication and people skills—you’re approachable, respectful, and not afraid to speak up when needed
  • Ability to stay cool under pressure (even when things get a little wild)
  • A sense of humor and love for the Cantina culture never hurts either
  • Must be a team player— Cantina is one big family.
  • Must possess reliable transportation to and from work
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Flexibility of schedule to assume responsibilities as needed; ability to balance personal and professional life
