Skate Guard Position

Under the direction of the Park and Facilities Supervisor, the Skate Guard will perform supervision of the ice skating surface during open skate to make sure policy and rules are followed and enforced in order that the skating environment is safe for all participants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Be on the ice skating during open skate session
  • Monitor participants behavior
  • Address issues related to participants behavior or unsafe skating practices
  • Enforce rules and policies
  • Assist with providing documentation surrounding any unsafe incidents that occur
  • Assist with administering First Aid when required
  • Monitor and address unsafe facility conditions or cleanliness of facility
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers
  • Ability to work well with children
Peripheral Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with cleaning facility
  • Assist with admissions Point of Sale process
  • Assist with skate rentals
  • Respond to emergencies
  • Attends meetings, seminars or other training as needed
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned
