MCPP: Manager, Deployed Support Services

Program Summary

The Marine Corps' Maritime Prepositioning Force (MPF) and Marine Corps Prepositioning Program has been operationally invaluable in supporting our Nation's interests across the world. This unique program provides the essential elements needed to support and execute crisis response, global reach, and forward presence. The Marine Corps' Prepositioning Program enables the rapid deployment of Marine Air Ground Task Forces (MAGTFs) and/or augment individual Marine units forward deployed.

Job Summary

The Manager Deployed Support Services reports directly to the MCPP Program Director and is responsible for CONUS and OCONUS direct reports, e.g. Global Positioning Nodes, Norway, and designated supervisors. This position will coordinate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and support staff on contract deliverables to ensure completeness, accuracy, and delivery to the government.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • International Operations planning, development and submission of the Basis of Estimates and/or Bill of Material requirements for International Operations ensuring proper staffing with designated SLT members and support staff.
  • Prepare, review, and approve contract deliverables as prescribed in the contract. Maintain project schedules, ensure deliverables are met and prepare and submit extension requests.
  • Ensure compliance with established safety regulations and procedures for handling and storing various equipment parts/components.
  • Coordinate with the SLT and support staff to ensure the proper sub-contracts activities are executed to support international operations.
  • Manage International Operations, change request process and submit reports to the government in collaboration with designated SLT members.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with program ISO policies and procedures and ensure compliance. - Coordinate with the Maintenance Management Office to ensure bi-weekly verification and validation of maintenance commodities and coordinate the reconciliation with external support functional offices, e.g. Government Prepositioning Division, Maintenance Management Office and any others as required.
  • Ensure employees assigned to the International Operations complete initial, sustainment and billet specific training and certifications. - Plan and manage site visits, internal inspections, and surge requirements for International Operations locations.
  • Prepare, review, and approve technical reports and correspondence, identify problem areas/deficiencies, and directs personnel in the preparation of reports and record-keeping activities.
  • Responsible for International Operations Quality Control and Management of the non-conformance resolution reporting to the government through proper staffing with designated SLT members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Business or other related field. MBA preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, a combination of education, college credits, training, and directly related work experience may be considered.
  • Fifteen (15) years of progressive experience with specialized knowledge of Marine Corps maintenance and logistic support activities, including eight (8) years' experience managing various aspects of cost/schedule controls, performance monitoring, report writing, program planning and customer interface
  • Ten (10) years minimum leadership experience in a logistic or maintenance position
  • Five (5) years' direct working experience with relevant logistics systems
  • US Citizen. Proof required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Valid state Motor Vehicle Operator License.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Military Base Access.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card.
  • In-depth understanding of Marine Corps policies, regulations, and orders.
  • Held position of equipment maintenance officer/chief in the United States Marine Corps.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Global Combat Support System-Marine Corps (GCSS-MC).
  • Working knowledge of military storage procedures.
  • Working knowledge of general maintenance procedures for military tactical equipment and supplies.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
