Simulation Support Engineer II 

AVL Mobility Technologies, Inc. (MTI) forges new ideas, creating exciting breakthroughs, and providing solutions for e-mobility, fuel cell, battery, ADAS/AD, data intelligence, and embedded systems for all types of vehicles. Our mission is to be the leading engineering consultancy providing excellence and sustainable mobility solutions to North America and the world as a key member of the global AVL network to help improve vehicle safety and reduce emissions. We are seeking a highly skilled Simulation Support Engineer II to join the team. 

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position. 

Roles:

  • Assist existing customers on operation and use of AST software
  • Technical sales support of customers including model setup, execution and analysis
  • Evaluation of customer requirements including estimation of scope
  • Organize local and customer-site training courses
  • Maintain and update training material and handouts
  • Reporting and communication of customer feedback to appropriate local and Graz AST staff
  • Project management and execution for AST simulation customer programs
  • Business development support including pre-sales activities (presentations, product demonstrations)
  • Customer evaluation support: proactively manage product evaluations by 1) leading initial training courses, 2) continuous follow-up during evaluation period, 3) post-evaluation analysis
  • Explore software functions proactively when support load permits and devise guides that will assist users and other support engineers to become more familiar and confident with the product and it interfaces
  • Works independently on common tasks and for new and advanced tasks works with senior support staff 

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in simulation / analysis / math-based simulation tools
  • Strong background in powertrain and vehicle component modeling and design optimization
  • Positive, customer-focused attitude
  • Understanding of vehicle systems, including advanced technologies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
