Job description

About MATSYS

MATSYS is an innovation‑driven advanced manufacturing company developing and producing specialty engineered materials that power next‑generation aerospace, defense, and energy applications. Our technologies enable breakthroughs in performance, efficiency, and reliability—solving some of the most complex materials‑engineering challenges in the world.

We are in a period of rapid growth and scaling, and we thrive on collaboration, technical excellence, and a culture of continuous improvement. At MATSYS, you will have the opportunity to directly influence the success of mission‑critical programs and build a supply chain designed for resilience, agility, and world‑class execution.

If you are excited by complex materials, advanced manufacturing, and high‑impact technical problem‑solving, you’ll feel right at home here.

About the Role

MATSYS is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead our full end‑to‑end supply chain covering international and domestic operations. You will own material flow from supplier sourcing through production planning, inventory management, logistics, and customer delivery—ensuring reliability and performance across highly engineered, long‑lead, and tightly controlled specialty materials.

This is a pivotal, high-impact leadership role driving cross-functional alignment with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Sales to ensure on-time delivery, supply continuity, and operational excellence as we scale.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Leadership
• Own the full supply chain lifecycle: plan, source, make, deliver, return
• Develop and execute supply chain strategy aligned with growth, capacity, and new product roadmaps
• Build resilience for critical, long‑lead, and sole‑source materials through dual sourcing, safety stock modeling, and proactive risk mitigation

Planning & Inventory Management
• Lead demand planning, MPS, and MRP to synchronize supply with forecast and production schedules
• Drive collaborative S&OP / IBP processes
• Optimize inventory turns and working capital while maintaining strong service levels

Supplier Management & Sourcing
• Lead supplier selection, qualification, and performance management for raw materials, components, and services
• Negotiate pricing, long-term agreements, and terms for both domestic and international supply
• Manage supplier scorecards, business reviews, and corrective actions

Manufacturing & Logistics Support
• Partner with Production to ensure material availability and minimize downtime
• Oversee inbound/outbound logistics, warehousing, trade compliance, and freight optimization
• Ensure traceability, lot control, and chain‑of‑custody for specialty materials

Quality, Compliance & Risk
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to manage specifications, non‑conformances, and supplier quality issues
• Ensure compliance with ITAR/EAR, REACH, RoHS, conflict minerals, ISO 9001/AS9100, and related standards

• Maintain business continuity and supply risk management plans

• International and domestic trade and import/export compliance

Continuous Improvement & Performance
• Define and track KPIs (OTIF, inventory turns, supplier quality, landed cost, PPV)
• Drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste, cost, and cycle time
• Lead, coach, and develop a growing supply chain team

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive supply chain experience in manufacturing
• 3+ years in management or team leadership
• End-to-end supply chain ownership experience (planning, sourcing, logistics, production support)
• Strong ERP/MRP systems experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
• Proven negotiation, contract management, and cost‑reduction achievements
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities
• Working knowledge of logistics, customs, and trade compliance
• Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with specialty materials (advanced alloys, ceramics, composites, engineered metals, polymers, chemicals)
• Background with long-lead, sole-source, or regulated materials
• Experience in aerospace, defense, medical, energy, or other quality-intensive environments
• APICS CPIM / CSCP, CPSM, or Six Sigma certification
• Lean manufacturing or CI experience
• Knowledge of export controls and compliance frameworks
• Master’s degree or MBA

Why Join MATSYS?

• High-impact role shaping the supply chain for breakthrough technologies
• Collaborative, mission-driven environment where your work directly supports national security and advanced engineering programs
• Opportunity to build processes, systems, and strategy during a time of significant organizational growth
• Competitive compensation, benefits, and long-term career development

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to characteristics protected by law or irrelevant to performance, unless otherwise required by law.
