Job Details: Title: Supply Chain Manager Location: Sterling, Virginia (On-site) Duration: Fulltime Mode Of Interview: Virtual followed by In-Person PURPOSE OF THE JOB: As an US Citizen, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible to lead our full end to end supply chain covering international and domestic operations. This role will own the material flow from supplier sourcing through production planning, inventory management, logistics, and customer delivery—ensuring reliability and performance across highly engineered, long lead, and tightly controlled specialty materials. This is a pivotal, high-impact leadership role driving cross-functional alignment with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Sales to ensure on-time delivery, supply continuity, and operational excellence as we scale. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Leadership: Own the full supply chain lifecycle: plan, source, make, deliver, return. Develop and execute supply chain strategy aligned with growth, capacity, and new product roadmaps Build resilience for critical, long‑lead, and sole‑source materials through dual sourcing, safety stock modeling, and proactive risk mitigation Planning & Inventory Management: Lead demand planning, MPS, and MRP to synchronize supply with forecast and production schedules Drive collaborative S&OP / IBP processes Optimize inventory turns and working capital while maintaining strong service levels Supplier Management & Sourcing Lead supplier selection, qualification, and performance management for raw materials, components, and services Negotiate pricing, long-term agreements, and terms for both domestic and international supply Manage supplier scorecards, business reviews, and corrective actions Manufacturing & Logistics Support Partner with Production to ensure material availability and minimize downtime Oversee inbound/outbound logistics, warehousing, trade compliance, and freight optimization Ensure traceability, lot control, and chain‑of‑custody for specialty materials Quality, Compliance & Risk Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to manage specifications, non‑conformances, and supplier quality issues Ensure compliance with ITAR/EAR, REACH, RoHS, conflict minerals, ISO 9001/AS9100, and related standards Maintain business continuity and supply risk management plans International and domestic trade and import/export compliance Continuous Improvement & Performance Define and track KPIs (OTIF, inventory turns, supplier quality, landed cost, PPV) Drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste, cost, and cycle time Lead, coach, and develop a growing supply chain team EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field 7+ years of progressive supply chain experience in manufacturing 3+ years in management or team leadership End-to-end supply chain ownership experience (planning, sourcing, logistics, production support) Strong ERP/MRP systems experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) Proven negotiation, contract management, and cost‑reduction achievements SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Relationship management, especially at managerial and stakeholder levels Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities Working knowledge of logistics, customs, and trade compliance Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. MS Office Suite Preferred Qualifications: Experience with specialty materials (advanced alloys, ceramics, composites, engineered metals, polymers, chemicals) Background with long-lead, sole-source, or regulated materials Experience in aerospace, defense, medical, energy, or other quality-intensive environments APICS CPIM / CSCP, CPSM, or Six Sigma certification Lean manufacturing or CI experience Knowledge of export controls and compliance frameworks Master’s degree or MBA SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Procurement Specialist, Inventory Control Specialist WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level is usually low to moderate. Work hours will typically be 8+ hour shifts, work hours may depend on project requirements and can include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
