Job Summary

GCP PAPER USA, Inc. is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Supply Chain & Purchasing Associate to support daily procurement and warehouse inventory operations. In this role, you will issue purchase orders, coordinate with regional vendors, manage MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) spare parts, and maintain accurate inventory counts. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career supply chain specialist to gain valuable hands-on manufacturing and operations experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Purchase Order Processing: Review internal maintenance requisitions, create and issue Purchase Orders (POs) for mechanical spare parts, tools, and plant supplies, and track order deliveries.

  • Vendor & Quote Coordination: Contact approved vendors to request price quotes, follow up on open orders, verify delivery timelines, and assist with basic invoice or shipping discrepancies.

  • Inventory & MRO Control: Assist with warehouse receiving, log incoming spare parts into the ERP/WMS system, execute routine cycle counts, and ensure parts are properly binned and organized.

  • Scrap & Recycling Support: Coordinate routine collection schedules for plant scrap metal, spent electronics, and recyclable materials with authorized waste management vendors.

  • Warehouse Safety: Maintain a clean and organized parts warehouse by storing materials, lubricants, and components in compliance with standard OSHA safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. A Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration is preferred.

  • Experience: 0–3 years of experience in purchasing support, shipping/receiving, or inventory control within a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution setting.

  • Language: Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in both English and Spanish required (verbal and written).

  • Systems Proficiency: Basic to intermediate experience entering data into ERP/WMS platforms (Oracle, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and navigate warehouse and active production areas throughout the shift. Occasional lifting or moving of parts weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Work Environment: Active paper manufacturing environment with industrial equipment noise, temperature variations, and fine paper dust.

  • Required PPE: Mandatory use of steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, and cut-resistant gloves in designated plant zones.
