Job description

  • Department: Materials Management
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-5pm
  • Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham

To provide comprehensive leadership and management of all Supply Chain Operations functions in
support of UAB Medicine and Health System activities. To assure alignment with UAB Medicine and
Health System initiatives and oversee supply chain operations including receiving, logistics, materials
distribution, supply inventory management, and purchase services as needed. This position is
responsible for coordinating the deployment of efforts related to operational excellence, utilization,
conversions, standardization of supplies, services, and equipment, as well as data-driven decision
making, regulatory compliance (CMS, Joint Commission, AHCA, FDA, etc.) and providing proactive
customer solutions.

  • Provides oversight for supply chain daily operations and initiatives.
  • Attracts, retains and develops leaders to ensure continuous operational capability across
    supply chain.
  • Develops and implements processes that will streamline operations and create savings for
    the organization.
  • Analyzes operations, service levels, utilization, and expenses using data-driven decision
    making to support operational excellence and reduce expenses.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance in accordance with all applicable healthcare agencies,
    standards, and requirements related to supply chain operations.
  • Oversees the effective use of ERP systems and related supply chain technologies to
    support planning, reporting, analytics, and process improvement.
  • Manages budgets and budgeting activities and presents monthly variances, trends, and
    recommendations.
  • Partners proactively with internal customers to provide solutions that support service
    delivery, efficiency, and continuity of operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Management, Healthcare or a related field and ten (10) years of supply chain experience required.
  • Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirements.
  • Healthcare
    supply chain experience preferred.
