Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager leads all aspects of the organization's Supply Chain management operations, including procurement, vendor relations, logistics, and material return. Participates in demand forecasting and oversees supply planning and procurement to ensure resource requirements are satisfied. Communicate with the leadership team regarding business needs to secure resources to satisfy customer demands and implement improvements. Coordinates with the Operations team to select and manage outsourced operations and service providers, including scrap and recycling management processes. Additionally, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading a multi-site team that includes purchasing, inventory control, and shipping/receiving. Ultimately, the Supply Chain Manager has a key role in satisfying our customers through on-time delivery with excellent quality, while ensuring that we effectively manage supply availability, inventory, and cost.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Management
  • Accountable for the execution of the Supply Chain management function and helping to develop Supply Chain strategy.
  • Builds relationships within the company and with external parties, such as suppliers and distributors.
  • Supports compliance requirements (ISO9001, AS9100D, etc.) as well as requirements for supplier compliance and sustainability.
  • Ensures the Supply Chain team participates in the New Product Development process, and appropriately investigates alternate raw material options to improve quality, ensure availability, and reduce cost.
  • Coordinates between the Business Development team and suppliers to identify new business (markets/customers/products) and supplier efficiency opportunities.
  • Schedules and executes periodic evaluations to ensure vendors are adhering to pricing contracts, quality requirements, delivery timeframes, and other agreement details.
  • Optimizes inventory levels to minimize production risk while maximizing inventory turns.
  • Leads internal initiatives to implement and maintain an effective and accurate physical inventory system, including ERP transaction accuracy, physical inventory events, and cycle counting.
  • Interviews and hires staff as needed. Conducts training/development, coaching, and performance/retention management.
  • Leads staff in departmental activities including communication, training, and achieving goals.
  • Develops, supports, and monitors departmental objectives to achieve budget/forecast.
  • Negotiates and manages contracts and import/export agreements.
  • Other projects, assignments, and duties as required.

Data Analysis & Process Improvement
  • Identifies and drives adoption of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) as they apply to Supply Chain success, as well as providing input to KPI's for Operations and Business Development.
  • Keeps detailed records, generates reports, and develops presentations to help management understand Supply Chain initiatives, activities, and KPI's.
  • Drives continuous improvement opportunities to streamline processes and improve accuracy/efficiency within operations.
  • Creates and updates procedures to support long-term departmental objectives.
  • Analyzes historical procurement and shipping data to identify areas of improvement.

Education and Experience
  • Eight (8) years of Supply Chain management, preferably operations, warehouse, and purchasing leadership.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and import/export is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems and relevant supply chain modules.
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field is preferred.
