Job description

Supply Chain Resilience Strategy Lead
We made history and now we work to transform the future - for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

In this position...
As a Supply Chain Resilience Lead, you will lead high-priority, high-visibility strategic initiatives designed to protect Ford's production from global supply chain vulnerabilities.    You will be responsible for identifying risks related to geopolitical exposure, supplier concentration, and financial distress, and then developing and executing comprehensive mitigation plans.  This role acts as a critical bridge between Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, and Manufacturing to ensure the long-term stability of Ford's most profitable vehicle programs.
This role is about 3 things: Learning, Strategizing, Delivering. Each Supply Chain vulnerability has a unique business problem that requires thinking through "How do we best solve this to protect Ford?".   Each day is a new "case study" in Supply Chain continuity.  Our team jointly works a strategy using modeling we're creating through our internal feedback loops & learning. The result will be driving approval and launch of our resilience plans to protect Ford

What you'll do...

  • Develop and present data-driven resilience strategies (e.g., dual sourcing, localization, capacity expansion) to executive leadership.

  • Lead identification and mitigation of global supply chain risks, including Tier 1/Tier 2 dependencies, single-source exposure, and geopolitical constraints.

  • Drive value stream mapping (VSM) to improve sub-tier visibility and uncover systemic risks.

  • Manage resilience governance, including cross-functional forums, KPI scorecards, and prioritization of critical supply risks.

  • Evaluate financial trade-offs of mitigation strategies, including CapEx, tooling, and cost-of-inaction analyses.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, and Supplier Technical teams to execute de-risking plans and ensure quality/validation compliance.

  • Lead supplier engagement on capacity, safety stock ("banking"), and transition strategies.
    You'll have...

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, procurement, or operations within automotive or complex manufacturing.

  • 5+ years of experience of demonstrated experience identifying supply chain risks and executing mitigation strategies (e.g., dual sourcing, supplier transitions, localization).

  • 5+ years of experience with strong program management skills, including leading cross-functional initiatives, governance forums, and KPI/scorecard tracking.

  • Proven ability to build and present business cases, including financial analysis of CapEx, tooling, and risk trade-offs.

  • Experience collaborating with Engineering, Finance, and Supplier Quality/Technical teams to deliver sourcing outcomes.

  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.

  • Effective communication skills with experience influencing senior leadership.

  • Experience managing supplier relationships, including negotiations, capacity planning, and delivery risk mitigation.

  • Ability to prioritize competing initiatives based on business impact, lead times, and production risk.

  • Experience working in fast-paced, global environments with shifting supply and demand dynamics.
    Even better, you may have...

  • Automotive OEM or complex hardware experience.

  • Familiarity with VSM and PPAP processes.

  • Experience with global sourcing and geopolitical risk.

  • Proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder...or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:
Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more
Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases
    Tuition assistance
Established and active employee resource groups
Paid time off for individual and team community service
A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year's Day
Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
