Supply Chain Manager

Position Summary

The Supply Chain Manager will oversee all purchasing and procurement activities to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and timely sourcing of materials and services supporting production, new product development, and ongoing operational needs. This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, mitigating supply risk, and partnering cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to support production planning and product lifecycle changes.

This position serves as the primary point of contact for procurement activities while driving continuous improvement, cost savings, and supply chain resilience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead all procurement activities including supplier selection, negotiations, contracting, and ongoing supplier management
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with cost, quality, delivery, and continuity objectives
• Manage material planning to ensure availability and alignment with forecasted demand
• Monitor inventory levels, lead times, and reorder points; recommend optimizations to working capital and supply efficiency
• Support new product development (NPI) through sourcing components, identifying supplier options, and securing prototype materials
• Partner with Engineering on ECNs, product changes, manufacturability considerations, and sourcing alternatives
• Identify and mitigate supply risk, including single-source exposure and supplier capacity constraints
• Monitor commodity markets and supply chain conditions to anticipate cost and lead-time impacts
• Track supplier performance and lead corrective action or development initiatives as needed
• Conduct supplier qualification, audits, and maintain documentation for compliance and certifications
• Manage purchase orders, expedite deliveries, and ensure accurate ERP system transactions
• Analyze procurement spend, identify savings opportunities, and support cost reduction initiatives
• Maintain procurement SOPs and drive process improvements for efficiency and data accuracy
• Partner with Finance on invoice reconciliation, cost tracking, budgeting, and controls compliance
• Build and maintain strong supplier and internal stakeholder relationships to support operational goals

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong background in supplier negotiation, contracting, and strategic sourcing
• Experience supporting production planning and inventory management
• Knowledge of NPI processes, ECNs, and prototype sourcing preferred
• Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate spend, supplier performance, and cost drivers
• Experience with supply risk management and alternate sourcing strategies
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel required; BI tools a plus
• Strong understanding of inventory management, lead times, reorder points, and working capital concepts
• Strategic mindset with focus on long-term sourcing and supplier diversification
• High attention to detail, ethical judgment, and commitment to quality and compliance
• Experience in high-growth or lean environments strongly preferred
