Job Summary

The Activation Engineer will serve as the local engineering and technical expert at NAPA's new building sites, working closely with the Sr. Engineering Project Manager to ensure the successful activation of facilities from the ground up. This role is crucial in delivering projects on time, within budget, and in full, while leveraging expertise in supply chain automation technologies

The Activation Engineer will be the on-site resource responsible for overseeing the activation of new buildings, providing technical guidance and support throughout the process. Reporting to the Activation Engineering Director, this role will be the primary on-site technical resource, ensuring that all engineering and operational requirements are met for successful project launches

Responsibilities

Greenfield Project Activation:

  • Lead the activation of new buildings from the ground up to completion, ensuring all engineering and technical aspects are executed effectively.
  • Provide technical oversight, CFT leadership, and commissioning support for all engineering projects aimed at increasing capacity, throughput, and productivity through technology
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to coordinate project activities and timelines, ensuring alignment with overall project goals
  • Provide permitting support & ensuring on time building launch

Technical Engineering Expertise:

  • Serve as the local engineering and technical expert on-site, providing guidance and support to project teams and contractors.
  • Address engineering challenges and implement solutions to ensure successful project execution and activation

Technology Implementation:

  • Utilize expertise in supply chain automation technologies to ensure the effective integration and operation of systems within new buildings.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure that all automation systems are installed and activated according to specifications

Project Management Support:

  • Support the Sr. Engineering Project Manager in tracking project progress, timelines, and budgets, ensuring that all aspects of the project are on schedule and within allocated resources.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings to communicate project status, risks, and mitigation strategies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Mgmt or a related field.
  • Passion for understanding of supply chain automation technologies and their implementation.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Supply Chain or Logistics Internship/Coop preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with contractors, project teams, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support project activation activities on-site

Physical Demands / Working Environment

  • Work performed in warehouse and construction environments.
  • Ability to travel as needed from site to site, up to 80%.
