Warehouse Operations Manager – Night Shift

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday
Employment Type: Full-Time

A well-established food distribution and warehouse operation in the Erie area is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee nightly warehouse operations and personnel.

This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for directing warehouse associates, ensuring accurate order selection, coordinating truck loading, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring nightly operations meet established dispatch schedules.

Position Overview

The Warehouse Operations Manager will serve as a first-line manager responsible for supervising approximately 50 warehouse associates and directing activities related to product selection, order verification, staging, and truck loading.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive warehouse operation throughout the night shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a strong focus on employee and workplace safety throughout the shift.
  • Oversee nightly order-picking and truck-loading operations.
  • Ensure orders are accurately selected, staged, and loaded according to dispatch schedules.
  • Minimize product damage and breakage during warehouse operations.
  • Directly supervise approximately 50 hourly warehouse employees.
  • Train, schedule, coach, and manage employee performance.
  • Monitor warehouse facilities and equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Enforce equipment operating procedures and coordinate preventive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot operational or equipment issues as needed.
  • Respond to work-related injuries and ensure appropriate policies and OSHA requirements are followed.
  • Maintain organized storage areas and efficient use of warehouse floor space.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to warehouse layout and operational processes.
  • Attend required management meetings and training programs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of warehouse operations, safety requirements, and industry practices.
Required Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of warehouse/distribution experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience managing an hourly workforce.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
