Job Description

The Assistant Bakery Manager is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Bakery Manager for the successful operation of the Bakery Department. It is essential that as an Assistant Bakery Manager, you will present yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing your defined responsibilities. You are responsible for always maintaining our high standards of Customer Service. Other duties may be assigned as required, depending upon the available time, business volume and other criteria as determined by your appropriate supervisors and/or Gerrity’s Supermarkets. Full compliance with current and future policies will be required to ensure that your work contribution is in the best interest of Gerrity’s Supermarkets.

Responsibilities

  • Competent and working knowledge of all Essential Functions for all department positions
  • Assist in maintaining and controlling supplies, inventory and shrink
  • Assist in maintaining accurate procedures in regard to invoices, transfers inventories and ordering
  • Assist with ordering sufficient quantities of raw materials for production while maintaining proper retail pricing
  • Responsible for the product quality and freshness and proper rotation
  • Assist with directing the stocking, display and rotation of the bakery products in the customer area
  • Responsible for directing seasonal items, sale items and demand items are properly displayed
  • Assist and support communication with Bakery Manager and subordinates
  • Responsible for maintaining a sanitary department in the customer area, cases/coolers and back room areas
  • Responsible for maintaining freezer and stocking including products as required
  • Responsible for completing and submitting of shrink reports
  • Competent knowledge and application of food preparations and procedures
  • Will be present at your workstation at the start of your shift
  • Comply fully with and enforce all safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to Customer Service Pledge at all times
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times while working and strictly adhere and enforce the Dress Code policy
  • Attendance at your job is essential to the overall function of your department
  • Will comply with and enforce all policies contained within the Employee Handbook
