Job description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to manage the procurement and logistics for our Solar, HVAC, and Plumbing divisions.This position ensures field operations run smoothly by executing and tracking daily purchase orders, coordinating shipment deliveries and returns, and managing vendor relationships for backorder resolution. A core function is maintaining inventory accuracy through regular audits and cycle counts to guarantee installation crews have the exact materials and equipment required for every project, delivered accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and track daily purchase orders for our Solar, HVAC, and Plumbing divisions.
  • Coordinate with vendors to track shipments, resolve delivery delays, and manage returns for damaged or incorrect goods.
  • Monitor shipment statuses and communicate arrival timelines to project managers and warehouse staff.
  • Oversee stock levels and perform regular audits to ensure material availability for scheduled jobs.
  • Assist conducting regular cycle counts and manage stock levels to prevent "truck-stock" shortages.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for order status updates, backorder resolutions, and processing returns/RMA for defective materials.
  • Complete any additional tasks as directed by leadership.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years in a purchasing or inventory role, preferably within the construction or trades industry.
  • Strong skills in ERP or inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
  • Proactive approach to resolving shipping delays or inventory discrepancies before they impact the field.
  • Familiarity with the "parts and pieces" of the trades-from PEX fittings and copper pipe to racking systems and air handlers.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in part numbers and specifications.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ownership in preventing project delays due to procurement issues.
  • Passion for sustainability and renewable energy, with a strong commitment to the company's mission.
