Job description

Medical Laboratory Technician - Chemistry

This is a 13-week contract position.

5x8s rotation: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Under general supervision, performs routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens, involving manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems. May perform phlebotomy as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform select procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens.
  • Utilize both manual techniques and laboratory instruments.
  • Accurately document and manage information within laboratory information systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

  • Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.
  • Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA).
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
  • Experience with Beckman Coulter equipment (AU system preferred).
  • Candidates with Sunquest LIS and automation experience are preferred.
